A Description of the Exhibit by Section
Section 1
The first section can be described as ominous, containing perilous and thunderous music. The narrator for this section is the Snowy Owl, who helps Mr. Bee navigate through a dark, stormy pine forest. Poly-fill clouds hang above the player to bring the thunderstorm to life. The player must guide Mr. Bee through the storm to a small, lit shelter in the distance while dodging thunderstrikes. i
Section 2
The second section is set in a flower field with cloudy blue skies and storm clouds in the distance. The narrator, Cappy the Caterpillar, directs Mr. Bee and the player to complete a Simon Says-like game. The player must remember the pattern for a sequence of different-colored blooming tiger lilies. After several rounds accompanied by delicate and dicey music, the player is granted the next clue to guide Mr. Bee home.
Section 3
Section three is home to Sandy the Snake and a dark mushroom forest filled with creatures and sinister music. Sandy instructs the player to match the poses in the “human-shaped keyholes” for Mr. Bee to squeeze through. After several rounds, Mr. Bee successfully navigates through the forest, and the player receives the last clue.
Section 4
In this calming and ambient scene, the final section has a mobile of spinning and excited bees, as well as mechatronic honeycomb doors with ten cells that are similar to a number keypad. While the doors are locked, the visual projections are a honeycomb pattern that matches the doors. After the player inputs the correct passcode by pointing to the numbers that they have collected in the previous three rounds, the doors open and the projections turn into bright blue skies. Mr. Bee is finally reunited with his friends and family.
